What’s included

  • Bed weeding and cleanout before install
  • Hand-cut spade edge on every bed line
  • Consistent-depth mulch for weed suppression
  • Black, brown or natural hardwood mulch
  • River rock and stone borders on request

Nothing changes a property's appearance faster than fresh mulch against a sharp edge. The edge is what does the heavy lifting: a hand-cut spade line separates bed from turf and keeps grass from creeping in for the rest of the season.

We install mulch at a depth that actually suppresses weeds without burying stems or trunks. Volcano mulching around trees kills them slowly; we do not do it.

Answers

Mulching & Edging questions

When is the best time to mulch in New Hampshire?
Late April through early June, once the ground has warmed. Mulching too early traps cold in the soil and slows perennials coming up.
How deep should mulch be?
Two to three inches. Deeper does not suppress more weeds and can suffocate shallow roots.
Do you install stone instead of mulch?
Yes. River rock and decorative stone borders are a good long-term option around foundations and driveways, and we install both.
